Frankfurt Sachsenhausen Mural
Commissioned by Mr. Ott and Mr. Mueller

Designed for the Wallstrasse in Frankfurt, Germany. Piet's design was chosen over numerous entries by accomplished fellow artists as well as competing art schools. Five years passed before the first phase of the mural was completed. The second phase has yet to be realized. Piet’s concept is based on a fragment of Goethe’s poetry, from where he developed this humanist mural, in which the entire world’s people can achieve the basic needs for life. At the same time, it refers to local elements of Frankfurt: the ‘Applewoi’ (apple wine) and the European Central Bank located in Frankfurt.

Material used includes high pigment mineral-silicon paints by Caparol Germany.
